allHTX vs Coinbase International: which to use
HTX vs Coinbase International is two centralized exchanges with the same order-book matching and different limits. HTX charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, allows up to 200x, lists 370 perp markets, and lets you start trading without ID. Coinbase International charges 2 bp maker and 4 bp taker, allows up to 50x, lists 131 markets, and requires ID and a suitability check. Fees on market orders, leverage and market count decide it for most traders. Pick HTX for reach and leverage, Coinbase International for a lower taker fee.
How each exchange is built
HTX is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. Coinbase International is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book, so you trade against a public book of resting orders on both.
Fees and what they mean
Both exchanges charge 2 bp (0.02%) maker at the base tier. HTX's taker fee is 6 bp (0.06%), per HTX's fee page. Coinbase International's taker fee is 4 bp (0.04%), per Coinbase International's fee page.
A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 12 bp per round trip on HTX, 8 bp on Coinbase International. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 2 bp on both, so the gap between the two disappears for traders who post limit orders.
Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds the taker fee twice to the slippage read from each live book at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets and leverage
As of 1 October 2026 HTX lists 370 active perps, 251 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. Coinbase International lists 131, 34 of them real-world assets. If you want more stock, commodity and FX markets, HTX has more of them.
HTX allows up to 200x on its highest-leverage market and Coinbase International up to 50x; most markets on both allow less. Coinbase International pays funding every hour on every market. HTX pays every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market, so check a market's interval before you hold it. An hourly market settles 24 times a day, an 8-hour market three times. A positive rate means longs pay shorts at each settlement. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Who can use them
HTX lets you start trading without ID, inside limits that verification lifts. For accounts opened since 2026-03-30 with no ID, futures are capped at 5x and API trading is off. More leverage and the API need level-2 KYC.
Coinbase International requires KYC: ID and a suitability check. Its perps are for eligible non-US countries and are closed to US and UK retail.
Tokens
HTX has a token, $HTX.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither exchange publishes TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so the TVL row and chart show nothing for either one.
Market counts differ in what they include. The HTX count is large partly because 251 of its markets are real-world assets, so compare crypto markets and real-world asset markets separately. The BTC page lists every exchange that lists BTC, with funding, price, open interest and liquidity.
Which one fits you
- Pick HTX if you want to start trading without ID, inside the limits above.
- Pick HTX if you need leverage above 50x, up to 200x on its highest market.
- Pick HTX if you want more markets (370 against 131) and more stocks, commodities and FX (251 against 34).

- Pick Coinbase International if you want hourly funding on every market.
