allOKX vs HTX: which to use
OKX vs HTX is two centralized exchanges that hold your funds in an account and match orders on a central limit order book. OKX charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, against 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker on HTX. HTX offers up to 200x and starts trading without ID, inside limits; OKX offers up to 100x and requires advanced verification first. OKX lists 480 perps, HTX 370, and HTX has more real-world asset markets. Taker fees, leverage, ID rules and market mix are the main differences between them.
How each exchange is built
OKX is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. HTX is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book, so on each you trade against a public book of resting orders. The practical differences are in fees, markets and access.
Fees and what they mean
OKX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per OKX's fee page. HTX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per HTX's fee page.
The maker rate is the same on both. A limit order that rests on the book and fills later pays 2 bp on either exchange. A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 10 bp per round trip on OKX and 12 bp on HTX.
Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds the fee and measured slippage at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets and leverage
As of 1 October 2026 OKX lists 480 active perps, 191 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. HTX lists 370, of which 251 are real-world assets. OKX has more markets in total. HTX has more real-world asset markets.
OKX allows up to 100x on its highest-leverage market and HTX up to 200x. Most markets on both allow less. A higher cap only matters on the markets that offer it, so check the market before you size a position.
Funding is the periodic payment between longs and shorts, and a positive rate means longs pay shorts. OKX pays funding every 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. HTX pays every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. An hourly market settles 24 times a day and an 8-hour market three times. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Who can use them
OKX requires advanced verification before trading, deposits or withdrawals. HTX is limited without ID: trading starts without ID, inside limits that verification lifts. For accounts opened since 2026-03-30 without ID, futures are capped at 5x and API trading is closed. More leverage and the API need level-2 KYC.
Tokens
OKX's token is $OKB. HTX's token is $HTX.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither exchange has a TVL row or chart, because centralized exchanges publish no TVL.
Market counts include real-world asset markets, so a larger total does not mean more crypto markets. The Head to head table shows the live figures for volume, open interest and funding.
