More comparisons
allOKX vs Deribit: which to use
OKX vs Deribit is a choice between two centralized exchanges that both require KYC. OKX lists more markets (480 against 134), more real-world assets (191 against 34) and up to 100x leverage against 50x. Deribit charges lower base fees (1.5 bp maker and 3.5 bp taker against 2 bp and 5 bp) and pays funding every hour on every market. Pick OKX for breadth and leverage. Pick Deribit for lower fees and hourly funding.
How each exchange is built
OKX and Deribit are both centralized exchanges (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. Both match orders on a central limit order book. For the trader this means the same model on both sides: an account that holds your funds and a central limit order book.
What each charges in fees
OKX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per OKX's fee page. Deribit's base tier is 1.5 bp maker and 3.5 bp taker, read from Deribit's API, which has no fee page to link.
Fees are in basis points (bp): 1 bp is 0.01% of the position. A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close, so a round trip is 10 bp on OKX and 7 bp on Deribit. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead: 2 bp on OKX and 1.5 bp on Deribit.
The fee is only part of the cost. Slippage is the price you move by eating through the order book, and it grows with size. The cost table above adds the fee and the measured slippage at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
How many markets and how much leverage
As of 1 October 2026 OKX has 480 active perpetual markets, 191 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. Deribit has 134, of which 34 are real-world assets. If you want stocks, commodities or FX next to your crypto, OKX has more of them on one exchange.
OKX offers up to 100x on its highest-leverage market and Deribit up to 50x. Most markets on both allow less, so check the limit on the market you plan to trade.
Funding is the periodic payment between longs and shorts of a perp. A positive rate means longs pay shorts. Deribit pays funding every hour on every market. OKX pays every 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. An hourly market settles 24 times a day and an 8-hour market three times. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
What each asks for before you trade
OKX requires advanced verification before trading, deposits or withdrawals. Deribit requires ID, proof of address and a financial profile before any deposit. Deribit is closed to the US, Canada, Japan and retail UK clients.
Tokens
OKX has a token, $OKB.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither exchange publishes TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so the TVL row and chart on this page are empty for both.
The funding rows use each exchange's own interval. Compare an hourly rate with a 4-hour or 8-hour rate per day, not per payment. The funding arbitrage ranking does that across every pair of exchanges.
