allBitget or Kraken Futures: which to use
Bitget vs Kraken Futures is two centralized exchanges with the same order-book design and different limits. Bitget charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, lists 862 perps with 345 on real-world assets, and offers up to 150x. Kraken Futures charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, lists 278 perps with 19 on real-world assets, offers up to 100x, and pays funding hourly on every market. Pick Bitget for market count, stocks and commodities, and leverage. Pick Kraken Futures for the lower taker fee and uniform hourly funding.
How each exchange is built
Bitget is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. Kraken Futures is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book. Neither is a self-custody venue, so the build does not separate them; fees, markets and access do.
Fees and what they mean
Bitget's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per Bitget's fee page. Kraken Futures' base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per Kraken's fee schedule.
The maker rate is the same on both. A limit order that rests on the book and is filled later pays 2 bp on either exchange. The gap is in market orders. A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 12 bp per round trip on Bitget, 10 bp on Kraken Futures.
Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds the fee and measured slippage at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets and leverage
As of 1 October 2026 Bitget lists 862 active perpetual markets, 345 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. Kraken Futures lists 278, of which 19 are real-world assets. If you want stocks and commodities next to your crypto, Bitget has the larger set. The real-world asset perps page covers the category across exchanges.
Bitget offers up to 150x on its highest-leverage market and Kraken Futures up to 100x. Most markets on both allow less, so check the limit of the market you trade.
Funding is the periodic payment between longs and shorts, and a positive rate means longs pay shorts. Kraken Futures pays it every hour on every market. Bitget pays every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. An hourly market settles 24 times a day and an 8-hour market three times, so the interval changes how fast a position accrues or earns funding. Check a market's interval on Bitget before you hold it. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Who can use them
Both require KYC. Bitget made KYC mandatory in September 2023; unverified accounts can only withdraw and close positions. Kraken Futures requires full verification and is closed to several regions: it is not offered in the US (a separate US product), Canada, Australia (wholesale only) or to retail UK clients. Check the account terms of each exchange for your region before you fund it.
Token
Bitget's token is $BGB.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither publishes TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so the TVL row and chart hold no figure for either. Volume, depth and funding are read live, and the Head to head table highlights the better figure in each row.
For funding, the funding arbitrage page ranks every pair of exchanges by spread, and the "Net 7d" column in the market list further down subtracts a round trip at your position size.
