allGate or BloFin: which to use
Gate vs BloFin is two centralized exchanges with the same maker fee and different rules on ID. Gate charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, lists 1022 perp markets and offers up to 200x, but requires KYC before the futures account opens. BloFin charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, lists 495 markets and offers up to 150x, and lets you trade futures without ID, with withdrawals capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify. Gate suits traders who want the lower taker fee and the wider market list. BloFin suits traders who want to start without ID.
How each exchange is built
Gate is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. BloFin is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book.
For the trader, this means an exchange account on both, not a self-custody wallet. The difference between them is in fees, markets and access, not in how orders are matched.
What the fees mean for market and limit orders
Gate's base tier is 2 bp (0.02%) maker and 5 bp (0.05%) taker, per Gate's fee announcement. BloFin's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per BloFin's fee page. A basis point (bp) is 0.01% of the position.
A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 10 bp per round trip on Gate, 12 bp on BloFin. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 2 bp on both. If you trade mostly with limit orders, the fee line is the same on both exchanges.
The fee is only part of a market order's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds the fee and slippage at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets, leverage and funding
As of 1 October 2026 Gate lists 1022 active perp markets, 301 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. BloFin lists 495, 115 of them real-world assets. If you want stocks and commodities next to crypto, Gate has more real-world asset markets.
Gate offers up to 200x on its highest-leverage market and BloFin up to 150x. Most markets on both allow less, so check the cap of the market you trade.
Both pay funding every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. Funding is the periodic payment between longs and shorts, and a positive rate means longs pay shorts. An hourly market settles 24 times a day, a 4-hour market 6 times and an 8-hour market 3 times. Check the interval before you hold a position. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate, and the funding arbitrage table ranks pairs by spread.
Who can use them and with what limits
Gate requires KYC before the futures account opens. An unverified account can only withdraw and close positions.
BloFin lets trading start without ID, inside limits that verification lifts. You need no ID to trade futures, and there is no leverage limit on that basis. Withdrawals are capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify.
Tokens
Gate's token is $GT.
Reading the numbers on this page
Gate publishes open interest as longs plus shorts, both sides of every position. BloFin publishes one side of open positions. For the same positions Gate's figure reads about twice as large, so the open interest row and chart above are not a like-for-like comparison of size. Read the volume rows and charts for a fairer view of activity.
Neither exchange has a TVL row or chart, because centralized exchanges publish none. The TVL row on this page stays empty for both. Market counts in the Head to head table are refreshed live, so use them for today's figures and the dated counts above as a reference point.
