Binance or HTX: which to use

Binance vs HTX is a choice between two centralized exchanges that both hold your funds in an account and match on a central limit order book. Binance charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, requires verified KYC, and offers 783 perp markets. HTX charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, lets you start trading without ID inside limits, and offers up to 200x leverage against Binance's 150x. HTX lists more stocks and commodities perps, 251 against 213. Taker fees, ID rules and leverage are the main differences between them.

How each exchange is built

Binance is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. HTX is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book, so you trade against other users' resting orders and the depth of that book sets your slippage.

Fees and what they mean

Binance's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per Binance's fee page. HTX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per HTX's fee page. One basis point (bp) is 0.01% of the position.

Binance's stock and commodity perps charge regular users 0 maker and 0.04% taker, "until further notice" as of 29 September 2026. That is below its own 5 bp crypto taker rate.

A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 10 bp per round trip on Binance's crypto perps, 12 bp on HTX. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 2 bp on both. The round trip in the cost table above also includes slippage, which the fee alone does not show.

Markets and leverage

As of 1 October 2026 Binance lists 783 active perps, 213 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. HTX lists 370, of which 251 are real-world assets. Binance has more markets in total. HTX has more real-world asset markets and a larger share of its list in them. The RWA page covers perps on stocks, gold, commodities, FX and indices.

HTX allows up to 200x on its highest-leverage market and Binance up to 150x. Most markets on both allow less. A Binance futures account under 30 days old is capped at 20x.

Both exchanges pay funding every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. Check a market's interval before you hold it: an hourly market settles 24 times a day, an 8-hour market three times. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.

Who can use them

Binance requires verified KYC to deposit or trade. HTX is limited without ID: trading starts without ID, inside limits that verification lifts. For accounts opened since 2026-03-30 with no ID, futures are up to 5x and there is no API trading. More leverage and the API need level-2 KYC.

Tokens

Binance's token is $BNB. HTX's token is $HTX.

Reading the numbers on this page

Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither exchange has a TVL row or chart, as is usual for a centralized exchange.

The Head to head table highlights the better figure in each row. The size charts show volume and open interest over 30 days, 90 days or a year. For the taker fee plus measured slippage on every exchange, every exchange's trading cost is on one page.

Which one fits you

  • Pick Binance if you trade crypto perps with market orders: 5 bp taker against 6 bp on HTX.
  • Pick Binance if you want the wider list: 783 active perps against 370.
  • Pick Binance if you trade stocks and commodities perps at 0 maker and 0.04% taker as a regular user.
  • Pick HTX if you want to start trading without ID, inside limits that verification lifts.
  • Pick HTX if you need up to 200x on a market, against Binance's 150x.
  • Pick HTX if you want more real-world asset markets: 251 against 213.

Both exchanges have a page with markets, funding and fees: Binance and HTX.
