More comparisons
allBitget or Phemex: which to use
Bitget vs Phemex is two centralized exchanges with the same top leverage and the same taker fee, so the choice rests on a few differences. Bitget lists 862 active perps against Phemex's 132, charges 2 bp maker against 1 bp, and pays funding every 1 hour on some markets. Phemex has the lower maker fee and a narrower set of markets. Bitget fits traders who want breadth in markets and real-world assets. Phemex fits traders who rest limit orders and want the lower maker rate.
How each exchange is built
Bitget and Phemex are both centralized exchanges (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. Both match orders on a central limit order book. For a trader, that means an account with each exchange, not a wallet connection.
What the fees mean for your orders
Bitget's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per Bitget's fee page. Phemex's base tier is 1 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per Phemex's fee page. Fees are in basis points: 1 bp is 0.01% of the position.
The taker fee is the same on both. A market order pays 6 bp to open and 6 bp to close, so a round trip costs 12 bp in fees on either exchange. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead: 2 bp on Bitget and 1 bp on Phemex. If you mostly post limit orders, the maker gap is the only fee difference between them.
Fees are only part of the cost of a trade. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds the taker fee twice to measured slippage at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets, leverage and funding
As of 1 October 2026 Bitget lists 862 active perps, 345 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. Phemex lists 132, 67 of them real-world assets. Bitget therefore has more crypto markets and more real-world asset markets, and the real-world asset perps page covers that category across exchanges.
Both exchanges offer up to 150x on their highest-leverage market. Most markets on each allow less, so check the limit of the market you plan to trade.
Funding is the periodic payment between longs and shorts of a perp. A positive rate means longs pay shorts. Bitget pays funding every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. Phemex pays every 4 hours or 8 hours. An hourly market settles 24 times a day and an 8-hour market three times. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Verification and withdrawals
Both exchanges require KYC. On Bitget, KYC has been mandatory since Sep 2023, and an unverified account can only withdraw and close positions. On Phemex, KYC unlocks spot and futures trading, and an unverified account cannot withdraw at all.
Tokens
Bitget's token is $BGB.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like for this pair. Neither exchange has a TVL row or chart, because centralized exchanges publish none. The volume chart and the Head to head table above show trading volume and BTC order-book depth for each exchange.
For funding, the funding arbitrage ranking lists every exchange pair by spread and by Net 7d, which subtracts a round trip on both exchanges from the funding the pair paid.
