alledgeX vs BingX: which to use
edgeX vs BingX is a decentralized exchange against a centralized one. On edgeX you trade from your own wallet without ID, at 4 bp maker and 4.5 bp taker, with up to 100x. BingX requires advanced KYC to deposit or trade, holds your funds in an account, and charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, with up to 500x. BingX lists 1240 perp markets against edgeX's 179. Custody, ID and leverage decide it for most traders.
How each exchange is built
edgeX is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that runs on edgeX L2. You trade from a self-custody wallet, with a wallet or MPC login. It matches orders on a central limit order book.
BingX is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. It also matches orders on a central limit order book.
For you, the difference is custody. On edgeX the funds sit behind your wallet. On BingX they sit in an account, and access depends on the account's verification status.
Fees and what they mean
edgeX's base tier is 4 bp maker and 4.5 bp taker, per edgeX's fee page. BingX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per BingX's fee schedule.
A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 9 bp per round trip on edgeX, 10 bp on BingX. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 4 bp on edgeX and 2 bp on BingX. So edgeX has the lower taker rate and BingX has the lower maker rate.
Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The round trip in the cost table above adds both at each size from $1k to $5M. Every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets and leverage
As of 1 October 2026 BingX lists 1240 active perps, 234 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. edgeX lists 179, of which 107 are real-world assets. Real-world assets are therefore a larger share of edgeX's list, while BingX has more of them in absolute count.
BingX allows up to 500x and edgeX up to 100x on their highest-leverage markets; most markets allow less. edgeX pays funding every 4 hours on every market. BingX pays every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market, so check a market's interval before you hold it. An hourly market settles 24 times a day, a 4-hour market six times and an 8-hour market three times. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Who can use them
edgeX asks for no ID: a wallet or MPC login works. It is closed to US and Ontario residents and to sanctioned countries, and it forbids VPNs.
BingX requires advanced KYC to deposit or trade. Unverified accounts can only withdraw, up to 20,000 USDT a day. Rules vary by region.
Token and points
edgeX's token is $EDGE, and as of 19 September 2026 its points and airdrop program was "Active". The airdrops page lists the programs running and the tokens launched. edgeX runs no vault that arb.sh tracks.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like.
BingX publishes no TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so that row and chart show edgeX alone. For edgeX the figure is DefiLlama's number for the deposits its bridge holds.
