More comparisons
allKuCoin or BloFin: which to use
KuCoin vs BloFin is a comparison of two centralized exchanges with the same base fees: 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker. The choice rests on three facts. KuCoin lists 686 perp markets, 159 of them real-world assets, and requires standard KYC (ID and face check) for any product. BloFin lists 495 markets, 115 of them real-world assets, offers up to 150x against KuCoin's 125x, and lets you trade futures without ID, with withdrawals capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify. Pick KuCoin for breadth, BloFin for leverage and access without ID.
How each exchange is built
KuCoin is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. BloFin is built the same way. Both match orders on a central limit order book. For the trader, that means an account at a company on both sides.
Fees and what they mean
KuCoin's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per KuCoin's fee announcement. BloFin's base tier is the same, 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per BloFin's fee page. Fee rates do not separate the two at the base tier.
A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 12 bp per round trip on both exchanges. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 2 bp on each side of the trade.
The fee is only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The cost table above adds both at each size from $1k to $5M, so it is where the two exchanges can differ even with identical fees. Every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.
Markets and leverage
As of 1 October 2026 KuCoin lists 686 active perps, 159 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. BloFin lists 495, 115 of them real-world assets. KuCoin has more markets and more real-world assets, so it is the wider choice if you trade beyond crypto.
BloFin offers up to 150x on its highest-leverage market and KuCoin up to 125x. Most markets on both allow less, so check the limit of the market you plan to trade.
Both exchanges pay funding every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. Check a market's interval before you hold it: an hourly market settles 24 times a day, an 8-hour market three times. A positive rate means longs pay shorts, so the interval sets how often that payment lands on your position. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.
Who can use them
KuCoin requires standard KYC, an ID and face check, for any product. This has applied since August 2023.
BloFin limits trading without ID rather than blocking it. You can start trading futures with no ID and no leverage limit. Withdrawals are capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify, and verification lifts the limits.
Tokens
KuCoin's token is $KCS.
Reading the numbers on this page
Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like with like. Neither exchange publishes TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so the TVL row and chart have no figures for either.
