Bybit or BloFin: which to use

Bybit vs BloFin is a choice between two centralized exchanges with the same maker fee and different taker fees, market counts and ID rules. Bybit charges 2 bp maker and 5.5 bp taker, lists 857 perp markets as of 1 October 2026 and requires standard verification for every product. BloFin charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, lists 495 markets as of 1 October 2026 and lets you trade futures without ID, with withdrawals capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify. Both offer up to 150x. Pick Bybit for the lower taker fee and wider market list. Pick BloFin if you want to start trading without ID.

How each exchange is built

Bybit and BloFin are both centralized exchanges (CEX). You open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. Both match orders on a central limit order book.

Fees and what they mean

Bybit's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5.5 bp taker, per Bybit's fee page. BloFin's is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per BloFin's fee page.

A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 11 bp per round trip on Bybit, 12 bp on BloFin. A limit order that rests on the book pays the maker fee instead, 2 bp on both. If you trade with limit orders, the fee does not separate them.

Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size and depends on each book's depth. The cost table above adds both at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.

Markets and leverage

As of 1 October 2026 Bybit lists 857 active perps, 237 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. BloFin lists 495, 115 of them real-world assets. If you want a market that only one of them has, the lists further down this page show the assets each exchange has alone, and the markets both have with each one's funding rate.

Both exchanges offer up to 150x on their highest-leverage market, and most markets allow less. Both pay funding every 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours depending on the market. Check a market's interval before you hold it: an hourly market settles 24 times a day, an 8-hour market three times. A positive rate means longs pay shorts, so the interval sets how often that payment lands on your position.

Who can use them

Bybit requires standard verification for every product. BloFin lets you start trading without ID, inside limits that verification lifts. You can trade futures with no ID and no leverage limit, but withdrawals are capped at 20,000 USDT a day until you verify.

Reading the numbers on this page

Bybit publishes open interest as longs plus shorts, both sides of every position. BloFin publishes one side of open positions. For the same positions Bybit's figure reads about twice as large, so the open interest row and chart above are not a like-for-like comparison of size. Compare each exchange's trend against its own history, not the two levels against each other.

Neither exchange has a TVL row or chart, as is usual for a centralized exchange. For funding across more pairs, see funding spreads between exchanges.
