BingX or KuCoin: which to use

BingX vs KuCoin is a choice between two centralized exchanges that both hold your funds in an account and match on an order book. As of 1 October 2026, BingX charges 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, lists 1,240 perp markets and allows up to 500x. KuCoin charges 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, lists 686 markets and allows up to 125x. Both pay funding every 1h, 4h or 8h depending on the market. BingX lets unverified accounts withdraw up to 20,000 USDT a day, while KuCoin requires standard KYC for any product.

How each exchange is built

BingX is a centralized exchange (CEX): you open an account with the company, and the account holds your funds. It matches orders on a central limit order book. KuCoin works the same way: a company account holds your funds, and orders match on a central limit order book. For the trader, the build is the same on both: you trade from an exchange account, not a self-custody wallet.

Fees and what they mean

BingX's base tier is 2 bp maker and 5 bp taker, per BingX's perpetual futures fee schedule. KuCoin's base tier is 2 bp maker and 6 bp taker, per KuCoin's futures fee announcement.

The maker rate is the same on both. A limit order that rests on the book and is filled later pays 2 bp on either exchange. A market order pays the taker fee to open and again to close: 10 bp per round trip on BingX, 12 bp on KuCoin.

Fees are only part of a trade's cost. Slippage, the price you move by eating through the order book, grows with size. The round trip in the cost table above includes both at each size from $1k to $5M, and every exchange's trading cost is compared on one page.

Markets and leverage

As of 1 October 2026 BingX lists 1,240 active perps, 234 of them stocks, commodities, FX or other real-world assets. KuCoin lists 686, 159 of them real-world assets. BingX has more markets in total and more real-world asset markets.

BingX allows up to 500x on its highest-leverage market and KuCoin up to 125x. Most markets on both allow less, so check the cap of the market you trade.

Both exchanges pay funding every 1h, 4h or 8h depending on the market. An hourly market settles 24 times a day, a 4-hour market six times and an 8-hour market three times. A positive rate means longs pay shorts, so the interval sets how often you pay or receive it while you hold. The list further down this page shows the markets both exchanges have and each one's funding rate.

Who can use them

Both exchanges require KYC. BingX requires advanced KYC to deposit or trade. An unverified BingX account can only withdraw, up to 20,000 USDT a day, and rules vary by region. KuCoin has required standard KYC (ID and face check) for any product since Aug 2023.

Tokens

KuCoin's token is $KCS.

Reading the numbers on this page

Both exchanges publish open interest as one side of open positions, so the open interest row and chart above compare like for like.

Neither exchange publishes TVL, as is usual for a centralized exchange, so the TVL row and chart show no figure for either. Volume, open interest, funding and cost are live figures: read them in the Head to head table and the charts above rather than from this text.

Which one fits you

  • Pick BingX if you trade with market orders: 5 bp taker against 6 bp.
  • Pick BingX if you want the larger list of markets: 1,240 perps against 686.
  • Pick BingX if you trade stocks, commodities or FX perps: 234 markets against 159.
  • Pick BingX if you need more than 125x, up to 500x on its highest-leverage market.
  • Pick KuCoin if you want a token to hold or track: $KCS.
  • Pick KuCoin if you trade mainly with limit orders: the maker fee is 2 bp, the same as on BingX, so the taker gap does not apply to you.
